Stop Genocide Now has three main projects: Camp Darfur, i-ACT (interactive-activism) and Darfur Refugee Journalism. We use innovate technology to connect the victims of mass atrocities, while violence is occurring, with those who can help advocate change and social justice. Communication technology and the Internet can change the way the world responds to genocide. Maybe we can even prevent it from happening in the future.

Turning OUTRAGE into ACTION for Darfur

f I have learned anything since that first encounter with the Darfur movement and Ruth Messinger, it is that morality will not move our leaders to action. It must be the people, us – you and me – telling them that the issue of Genocide, is so important to our survival as humanity, that they will pay politically if they do not act. This from Samantha Power's "A Problem from Hell” before the Darfur genocide began:

"Before I began exploring America's relationship with genocide, I used to refer to… Continue

We go to the Chad/Darfur border and report from the Darfur refugee camps there. This should be an interesting trip. Our organization (which is very small and grassroots oriented) has been six times before, I have gone on three of those trips - all last year. On this side we are Stop Genocide Now but on the ground we simply go by our project name, i-ACT as it would… Continue

Watch videos and view photos from Darfur refugee camps; read journal entries and add your comments; take action daily that will change the way the world responds to genocide. We cannot expect our leaders to STAND UP if we are sitting down.

The violence and insecurity in and aro… Continue

Justice for Darfur: ICC Arrest Warrant and Action

Over and Over again in the refugee camps we heard from Darfuris that justice is above everyone and that any deferral in the name of a peace would only give Sudan's President al-Bashir more time to kill.

Listen to the Victims speak themselves: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Puv36vgY_lw

The beginning of justice in Sudan started today.

In an unprecadented move, the International Criminal Court has issued an arrest warrant for Sudan's President Omar al-Bashir. The first time ever that a sitting h… Continue
